Ralsei is sweet, kind, and always ready with a healing spell, but something about him feels off. From the start, he knows a little too much about how things are supposed to go. He tells Kris and Susie they’re “Heroes of Light,” explains the prophecy, and somehow already has a castle waiting for them.

Where did he get this information?
Fans have pointed out that Ralsei might be manufacturing the quest, a guide who's less Gandalf and more game master, nudging the story to fit a script. And his lack of a visible counterpart in the Light World only adds to the mystery. Is he really just a “Dark World” version of Asriel? Or is he something entirely different?
There’s also his uncanny desire for peace. Ralsei pushes pacifism hard, even when it feels unnatural. Almost like he’s trying to keep us from discovering something violent beneath the surface.
Ralsei wants us to follow the rules. The question is: who wrote them, and why is he so invested in us obeying?
